Onion Chutney

Ingredients:

  • Onions---3(cut into dices)
  • Whole red chillies---3
  • Coriander seeds---1tsp
  • Cumin seeds---3/4 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves---1/2 small cup
  • Tomato---1(med) cut into pieces
  • Tamarind---2 inch piece
  • Salt---Adjust to taste
  • Sugar---1 pinch
  • Oil---1tsp
Garnish:
  • Fresh coriander leaves
Preparation:
  • Put oil in the frying pan. Add coriander seeds, cumin seeds and red chilies.
  • Once the cumin seeds start spluttering add the onion pieces.
  • Fry them till transparent in med flame.
  • Then add tomato pieces. Fry them till cooked.
  • Once cooked shift from stove and let it cool.
  • Then add salt, sugar and tamarind and make in to paste in mixer.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with idlis, dosas or pesarattu.
